Thanksgiving Hours & Meals

In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, the St. Stephen's Human Services Welcome Center will be closing at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 25th and re-opening at 8:30 AM on Monday, November 30th.

St. Stephen's has hosted Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day drop-in centers for the last 33 years. In consultation with the Minnesota Department of Health, we have determined that due to COVID-19, we are unable to safely host our holiday drop-in centers this year.

Several other events are canceled this year, too. Please see below for information on locations who ARE serving meals this year:

Thanksgiving Day Meals in Minneapolis

 

Due to COVID-19, many longtime holiday events have been canceled in 2020. These are the locations who are serving a meal this year:


Catholic Charities Opportunity Center
740 East 17th St.
Will serve breakfast from 7-8 am, and turkey dinner from 11:30–12:30. Seating capacity is 30 people, so there will 2–3 different seating times. They will be open Friday, Nov. 27 with breakfast and lunch.


Mary Jo’s-Sharing and Caring Hands
525 North 7th Street
Serving a free meal from 9:30–11:30 am.
Closed the day after Thanksgiving.


Loaves & Fishes-Mount Olivet
5025 Knox Avenue South
Will serve a takeout dinner 10:00–11:30 am on Thursday.


House of Charity Food Centre
714 Park Ave S
A takeout holiday meal will be served to everyone from 12–1 pm on Thursday. Takeout lunch also served Friday 12–1 pm.


Loaves & Fishes-St. Stephen’s
2123 Clinton Ave S
Will serve a takeout dinner 5:30–6:30 pm on Thursday and Friday.


Loaves & Fishes-New Bethel
1115 30th Avenue North
Will serve a takeout dinner 5:30–6:30 pm on Thursday and Friday.
