Scott Redd Named New Executive Director

St. Stephen’s Human Services Names Scott Redd Executive Director

St. Stephen’s Human Services, a nonprofit human service agency providing street outreach, shelter, and housing programs to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Hennepin County, has announced the selection of Scott Redd as its new Executive Director. Redd will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Gail Dorfman.

Redd comes to St. Stephen’s from his role as Interim Chief Operating Officer/Vice President of Resident Connections & Supportive Services at Aeon, where he is responsible for day-to-day leadership and management, partnership development, supportive services, and property management. Prior to this role, Redd served as the Executive Director of Family and Community Engagement for Minneapolis Public Schools.

“The Board of Directors is impressed with Scott’s passion for working with people experiencing homelessness and how it aligns with St. Stephen’s values of collaboration, innovation, and meeting people where they’re at,” said Chuck Webber, Chair of the St. Stephen’s Board of Directors. “While at Aeon, Scott worked to reduce barriers to housing opportunities. He has a strong commitment to serving people experiencing the greatest barriers. Additionally, the Board values his proven ability to work effectively across differences and to be a bridge builder.”

A trusted leader in the nonprofit community, Redd has over 25 years of service in the nonprofit/public sector, and is known for his strategic vision, building strong partnerships, and commitment to equity and inclusion.

Redd has a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies from the University of Minnesota, and a Master of Science degree in Education Administration from St. Cloud State University.

“I am humbled and deeply honored to be appointed as St. Stephen’s Executive Director. There are many strong initiatives underway and I’m excited to lead a team that will combat the negative trend of homelessness in our community. I love St. Stephen’s mission and can’t wait to partner with our allies to make ending homelessness a reality,” said Redd.

Scott Redd’s first day at St. Stephen’s will be Monday, February 11, 2019.
