The month of June marks the end of each fiscal year at St. Stephen’s and brings with it a review of our accomplishments as we prepare for the coming year. Here’s some of what we did in the second half of 2017 with your support:
630 adults and 1,154 children were supported in our family housing programs.
694 individuals were provided shelter for at least one night.
180 unsheltered individuals were assisted by street, library, and veterans outreach.
233 households were housed.
163 veterans were served.
740 audience members saw a zAmya performance.
We know that ending homelessness is possible. We see it in the faces of the single adults and families we work with who now have stable housing. You make it possible for us to operate our family and single adult programs, shelter people experiencing homelessness, do outreach on the streets, and end homelessness every day. Thank you for your support.
I joined the staff of St. Stephen’s more than four years ago after a long career in government. I recently made the decision to retire at the end of this year. While I have a mix of emotions as I move into the next phase of life without meetings to attend, schedules to keep, or speeches to give, I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished serving our community’s most vulnerable residents and I am deeply grateful for the relationships I’ve built in my time here.
Our Board of Directors has a succession plan in place and I will continue to work hard until a new Executive Director is hired. I am honored to have been part of this amazing place called St. Stephen’s.
