On Wednesday, March 11th, hundreds of advocates will descend upon the Minnesota State Capitol to highlight and talk about the need for more safe and affordable housing across the state.
The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless coordinates Homeless Day on the Hill each year, including organizing a kick-off training and scheduling meetings for groups of attendees to meet with their legislators.
This year, Homeless Day on the Hill will focus on these requests:
- $50 million investment to expand emergency shelter beds
- $15 million investment to strengthen the Emergency Services Program
- $500 million in bonds for housing
The event is free, and all are welcome. Because there are strengths in numbers and in learning from each other, this is a great opportunity for anyone interested in becoming more involved in advocacy.
The event takes place from 8am-3pm. Learn more and register on the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless website.
