As you may have seen in the news, St. Stephen’s Human Services has received a $5 million grant from the Day 1 Families Fund to expand and enrich our programs that end homelessness for families. St. Stephen's is among 32 organizations receiving a total of $98.5 million dollars from the Day 1 Families Fund in 2019. We will be spending our grant over the next five years through a multi-faceted approach.
We are thrilled that our work with families is being recognized on a national level and are so proud of our staff who work hard every day to end homelessness.
We recognize the responsibility that comes with the privilege of receiving this grant and will be very intentional about using it to serve families in communities disproportionately affected by homelessness.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Day 1 Families Fund,” said Annie Wells, Director of Family Programs at St. Stephen’s. “We believe housing is a basic human right. That’s why we serve families in need, regardless of criminal or rental history, mental health challenges, and/or chemical use — we know that everyone deserves a safe place to call home, and this grant will help us make that true for more families in the Twin Cities.”
We are excited for what’s ahead and look forward to sharing our progress with you!
